Soroptimist International of Angat

Chartered:  April 2008

 

 

Soroptimist International of Angat was chartered by SI San Rafael in April 2008. Under the initiative of Congresswoman Lorna Silverio and then-District Director Menchie Martinez with former Vice Mayor Emelita San Pedro as Charter President. 

 

 

SI Angat unveiled the Soroptimist marker in April 2013 strategically located at Pugpog, Angat overlooking the Angat River and Sierra Madre Mountain ranges. The club started with 12 members. Being in a rural set-up (only the town proper may be considered rural) it is difficult to attract new members. There are a lot of women who have a heart and willingness to help other women and girls but the major setback is the source of funding to finance annual dues and project costs.  (read more about SI Angat)
