Soroptimist International of Batangas Downtown

SIBD is the first Soroptimist Club chartered by Soroptimist International Batangas Premier (SIBP) in Batangas City. The club was chartered on November 22, 2016 with fifteen (15) members who became interested to our esteemed organization through the continuous efforts and persuasions of SIBP President Felie Go and Membership Pillar Chair Malen Balina and member Mellany Uy, These

passionate ladies invited their friends and a group of young mothers from Stonyhurst Southville International School. Without any knowledge of what Soroptimist International is all about, these ladies were introduced and welcomed by Soroptimist members and invited to attend the Soroptimist Orientation in October, 2016. While in the beginning, some were still hesitant in joining, they all eventually agreed to join and became the charter members of SIBD.

The charter presentation and induction of officers and members were held at Ponte Fino Hotel in November 22, 2017 in the presence of Soroptimist International of the Philipine Region Governor Cherry Tumaneng and other SIAPR Pillar Heads, Appointed as President of the club was Helen S. Cifra who was then the Vice President and member of SIBP. Incidentally, it was also Ms. Helen who first introduced and initiated the formation of the first Soroptimist International Club in Batangas City now called SI Batangas Premier.

Since its inception up to the present, the club has been very vibrant and has grown in membership. It has now a total of forty (40) active members who are all very joyful, so passionate and much willing to share their time, resources and talents to help women and girls improve their lives.
