About

Soroptimist International of Gumaca

In 1982, a group of officers and members from Soroptimist International of Calauag visited their friends in Gumaca to share the mission and values of Soroptimist, the largest service organization dedicated to business and professional women. Inspired

by its noble goals, an orientation was organized on May 21, 1982, at Bulwagang

Salakot, featuring Mrs. Magdalena Nicolas and several SI Calauag members.

A pivotal moment occurred on July 2, 1983, when 23 aspiring business and professional women were inducted into the organization by Mrs. Mariquita S. Castelo, founder and President of Soroptimist Philippines. The ceremony was honored by esteemed guests from the region, including Magdalena Nicolas, Asuncion Flores, and guest speaker Milagros Araneta Villasor.

Estelita V. Rodelas, a well-respected school administrator from Eastern Quezon College in Gumaca, was elected as the Charter President. The club officially received its charter in November 1983.

Now, as SI Gumaca celebrates its 40th anniversary, it remains a vibrant organization, committed to making a significant impact through community service. The legacy of Soroptimist continues, driven by a steadfast dedication to its mission

and vision.
